Air
Methods Kentucky is dedicated to providing its staff and patients the
safest environment possible. Our parent company, Air Methods
Corporation, is proud to hold the best safety record in the air
medical industry. The experience we gain flying 150,000 flight hours
every year is priceless. No other operator can match our track record.
Our focus is eliminating injuries to employees and avoiding aviation
accidents and damage to equipment and property. This is accomplished
through a series of aggressive steps throughout all levels of the
organization. Our staff includes an operational safety representative
who assists with the daily operational safety function and provides a
conduit between the customer, the flight operation, the corporate
safety element, and upper management. At the corporate level, a
full-time, experienced safety management team is employed, and the
director of safety reports directly to our chief executive officer.
High
standards and requirements for our staff also help us attain our
safety goals. Every flight crew member must complete recurrent safety
training, with the goal of providing the best possible protection for
the patient and flight crew. In addition, our fleet of modern aircraft
is equipped with the latest in safety technology, such as Night Vision
Goggles (NVG), satellite tracking, weather radar, and terrain
avoidance systems. Air Methods Kentucky adheres to all FAA weather
requirements.
