Methods Kentucky has demonstrated its preparation to step up and play an
important role in the event of a large-scale disaster through these and
other examples:

Deployment
of aircraft and crew in 2008 to assist in the mass evacuation efforts
during Hurricanes Gustav and Ike
-
Participated
in an extensive and elaborate disaster drill in conjunction with a
number of other fire/EMS agencies and facilities
-
Volunteering
of staff to assist in the care and treatment of local individuals
impacted by disasters, such as the 2009 ice storm that left hundreds
of thousands powerless for days.
