Air Methods Kentucky: Grayson Base (KY-10)

 

 

 

The KY-10 Grayson base flies an AS350B2 VEMD A-Star which uses the following equipment:  Terrain avoidance, traffic avoidance, satellite weather, night vision goggles, and integrated global positioning systems. The aircraft is equipped with UHF, VHF, and 800 megahertz radios, Outer Link Satellite Tracking and satellite phone.

We serve an eight-county area that includes Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, Lawrence , Lewis, Morgan, and Rowan counties. We also serve parts of Ohio and West Virginia under mutual aid agreements.

Our base is active with The City of Grayson Emergency Management, Eastern Kentucky Fire Fighters Association, and Carter County Firefighters Association.

The base has an average liftoff time of eight minutes.
