Air Methods Kentucky: Prestonsburg Base (KY-9/HealthNet7)

KY-9 is a hybrid base that is in joint partnership with HealthNet Aeromedical Services. One of the first such partnership initiatives in the United States, the program officially began in April 2009 to better serve our customers and patients in Eastern Kentucky. We are known as KY 9/ HealthNet7 and are located at the Big Sandy Airport in Prestonsburg, Ky. Radio and dispatch communications are handled by two communication centers. The aircraft can be called for dispatch by calling Huntington MedCom at 1-800-747-2244 or LifeCom at 1-866-281-4822.

The KY 9/HealthNet 7 base is very involved in the community, providing classes to local hospitals, EMS, and fire agencies, as well as participating in community events.

The base flies an AStar with an average lift-off time of 7 minutes.
