Originally
part of the
St. Joseph
network, the KY-1 aircraft was relocated to serve the
London,
Ky., community and be based at
Marymount
Hospital. Thus, developing community based services the aircraft was moved
to
London,
Ky., and based at
Marymount
Hospital
for several more years before it again moved to the
London
Corbin
Airport
. The convenience of the relocation resulted in decreased
liftoff times and many other benefits.
The
KY-1 base attends most community functions, including health fairs
and participation with
EMS
in area practice drills. Crews participate in an annual event
with Jackson Co EMS called Prom Promise, a mock car accident event
designed to detour kids from drinking and driving during prom.
Our biggest strength in our community is our people. At least
75% of our staff is local, well-known and respected, and we are
truly community invested.
The base flies an EC130,
with an average liftoff time of seven minutes. |
