Air Methods Kentucky: Bedford Base (KY-11)

 

 

 

KY-11 is located in Trimble County Kentucky between Bedford and Milton. Re-opened June 3, our base is next to the Trimble County EMS building and Milton fire department station #2.

We fly a twin engine Eurocopter BK-117A4 that has the following capabilities:

• Night vision Goggles (NVG)
• Terrain/aircraft avoidance
• VHF, UHF, 800MHz and satellite phone with active tracking.
• Technisonic tactical radio
• Dual Garmin 430 GPS systems


Medical

We use a LTV 1200 ventilator with BiPAP and CPAP capabilities

Zoll ProPaC monitor:
• Invasive monitoring (Co2, 2 preasure lines)
• Auto BP cuffs
• Pacing
• Cardioversion
• Defibrillation
• Oxygen saturation monitor
• EKG
• 12lead

Additionally we have available:

• RSI and surgical airways
• IV pumps capable of transporting a patient on 6 IV drips
• Hypothermia induction for post-arrest
