Our Aircraft

Air Methods Kentucky is proud to provide aircraft specifically selected for the EMS mission, operating one Beech King Air B-200, with one Beech King Air B-100 available for back-up. These aircraft offer excellent reliability, state-of-the-art technology, and a strong performance record. Both aircraft are turbojet twin engine, pressurized airplanes equipped with instrumentation for all flight conditions, including direct navigation and color weather radar for inclement conditions. Planes cruise at approximately 220 miles per hour and are serviceable up to 800 miles. Flight crew can be airborne within one hour of a confirmed flight request. The airplanes operate out of Bowman Field in Louisville.

All Air Methods aircraft are maintained by experienced and dedicated FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanics. Mechanics are trained on an initial and reoccurring basis. Each aircraft is inspected and maintained to the highest standards through a FAA-approved aircraft inspection program (KAIP), ensuring constant and progressive attention to detail.
